1 2 3 4 5 6 SEVEN

lucky seven, huh? well, welcome to the seventh month of your little life, baby adam!

this month brought soooo much change. your world is definitely opening up in ways that are hard for me to explain here but easy for anyone who is around you to witness.
you are....

-far more aware of your surroundings. if someone comes in the door, you turn to see who. if the dog barks, you look over at him to see what's bothering him. and then, you might even look at me with a questioning face, as if to say-- what's his problem!? you reach for any and everything new. you seem to want all the things you shouldn't have and will quickly drop a toy to eagerly reach and grab other, more interesting, more forbidden things-- like cell phones, tv remotes, mommy and daddy's coffee, my earrings, etc. while you love to play with your toys, you're really more into things that are NOT toys... things that are still new and mysterious and aren't yet coated in your slobber. recently, i was reading you a bedtime story and you reached up and grabbed my earring and pulled with all your might. it hurt! i am shocked you didn't rip it out of my ear... the temptation of watching it sway back and forth as i rocked must have been too much for you to handle-- you just had to have it! and had it you did... ouch! you love lights and anything that lights up or makes sounds. you like when we sing or read to you and smile when we clap and play patta-cake.

-sitting just as pretty, er handsome, as you please! you will sit for an hour or more just playing with your toys. you don't topple over, you bend and reach for toys. you get excited when we play with your ball, throwing it in the air especially. while i usually provide several toys to play with, you definitely favor some toys over others. you especially love your clear inflatable ball and a set of teething keys.

-are still just wiggling away on your belly but haven't begun crawling. while i can't wait to see you go, i am feeling very lucky that you are happy where you are. your curiosity is so fierce that i know we have a busy time in the near future when you decide to make your move.

-eating meats. you have turkey, chicken and beef now. you like them all with no problems whatsoever. i have also offered you puffs and crackers and a half a banana. you can easily eat the crackers and the banana (when it doesn't get all slobbery slippery and leave your hands!), but you're still mastering the puffs. you get that they're food, you just usually drop them out of your hand before they reach your mouth. but we'll keep trying... you're definitely interested in them and learning!

-laughing, laughing, laughing. FINALLY! you giggled and chuckled before, but this past weekend i think you laughed more than you ever did in your whole entire life. your laugh is so sweet and funny.

-in love with mommy and daddy. you don't like to be alone for too long and cry when we leave you for a nap in your crib. you turn to watch us go and wail as we cross the threshold of your room. this started last month, but has definitely increased this month. i know this is just a phase and it isn't too bad. frankly, i selfishly love that you love hanging with us so much that you don't want us to leave! :) sometimes i cry when i have to leave you too, so i know how you feel..!

this past weekend was your first easter. we drove together to sc to spend it with grandma, grandpa and uncle lucas-- your daddy had to work. while we missed daddy, we had such a fun time with grandma and grandpa and luke. uncle lucas bought you a really big, really fun fire truck and grandma and grandpa ate you up! they were really amazed at how much you'd changed, how aware you are, how you are interactive and playful more than ever. you were a treat for all of us and a joy to spend the weekend with.

photos to follow....
