at 13 months and a week, adam is a blast. and man, are we ALL learning a lot!

adam's still talking up a storm. every day when i pick him up at daycare, he looks around the room and tells everyone bye bye as soon as i pick him up, which is adorable. he likes to walk out of the school, usually holding just one hand. eric said one day he waved and said bye bye with the other hand the entire way out.

when we leave him at daycare in the morning, he cries and cries each time, making leaving him heart wrenching. and, at daycare he takes one midday nap. so, when we pick him up he's usually exhausted. after outdoor play twice and trying to keep up with the bigger kids inside, i know that one little nap is not enough for our sleeper.

he's been saying daddy clearly too all the time. occasionally i get ma ma, but rarely. and we've heard him say drink a couple times, but not often.

when we ask him what the cow say, he replies mooooo (more like mmmmmmmmmmmmmm). he dances and bops in the car or while standing when he hears a tune he likes. and recently, he's started to weave his head from side to side too, adding to the little dance. too funny!

he's taken several more steps on his own, but only at our prompting. he would not, for example, stand up on his own and walk across the room. if we stand him in the middle of the room, he'll take several steps alone to us or to the furniture. but, i think for now he is happy to push his walker around and zoom as a crawler.

speaking of his walker, he loves to crash it into OUR legs and laughs when we say OUCH. and, when he gets stuck somewhere (between the dog and furniture or in a door way, for example) he slams slams slams slams until somehow he gets through.

he's learning right from wrong and definitely knows what NO means. but.... sometimes he tests us to see what we'll say and i know that this is just a taste of the toddler years to come :)

recently we took adam to a fall festival/pumpkin patch. there were fun things to play on and in and animals. i was worried that he wouldn't have fun b/c he might still be too small, but he had a BLAST. he climbed on the steps, crawled through tunnels, went down slides, petted animals, and played in a crazy balloon tent. we took him in his wagon, which was also cool. it was so fun to see him having so much fun! photos on flickr.
