i bought an immersion blender this weekend. i've been eyeing them online for awhile and finally got it. and.... it has changed my life! ok, well, not my ENTIRE life but definitely adam's life....
i am not a huge fan of feeding adam the jarred baby foods. when possible, we get organic jarred foods, and we definitely use them when traveling or when others are babysitting just for convenience's sake. but, otherwise, i love feeding him whole, fresh, real foods. the only issue is that it takes about all day to make up batches of food to freeze. plus! there is the messy huge processor. i LOVE my processor, but you have to mean business when you get that baby down.
now that adam is eating more and more foods, i thought an immersion blender would be perfect. he pretty much can eat all that we do (aside from peanuts and honey and eggs... am i forgetting anything?). so my plan is to take some of what i cook for eric and me and blend it up with the immersion blender every night.
today for lunch, adam had chicken (1 chicken tender, baked and blended), some peas (snap peas bought at farmers market yesterday), half a banana and a handful of puffs. all blended with the immersion blender! all you have to do is run it under water when you're done and clean up is OVER. fabulous!
friends, if you have a baby eating mushy food, get this! i have seen them costing as much as $100.... but my $15 el cheapo works perfectly.

my wonderful, sweet sister in law gave us her jogging stroller! i can't WAIT to take it for a spin! i've been contemplating my schedule to find time for cardio and, i think, when i pick up adam i can just change clothes there at the daycare and jog on the base along the waterfront path there with adam. not only will this get in some exercise for me and get our baby some fresh air... but it will also have me jogging during rush hour and driving home when it's over, woo hoo!

got adam a baby pool and pool float this weekend. we took a trip to our friend eric's (same name, but not my husband!) pool on saturday with some other friends. adam had so much fun that he ended up napping under a pool chair, the shadiest spot!
