today we met eric at the coast guard station for a picnic dinner, since he was working tonight. it was THE MOST beautiful day and we had a lot of fun. adam had a bottle on his blanket in the grass while eric and i chowed on our dinner. after dinner, we all played in the grass and adam showed eric his new skill- crawling............. backwards.
yep, backwards.
adam has been thinking about crawling for a couple weeks now, rocking on his hands and knees and also by creeping around, pushing his toes into the floor and scooting on his tummy. i can't keep him sitting anymore. as soon as i sit him somewhere, he's immediately on hands and knees, revving his motor, trying to figure out how to get going
it's so funny now: he sets his sights on something, gets on hands and knees, rock rock rocks, and WOOPS, moves further away from whatever it was he wanted. how frustrating!? tonight, during our picnic, he tried to crawl to eric and me and ended up UNDER his stroller behind him. sigh.... the frustrating life of a little one.
soon, dear baby, soon you'll have me pulling my hair out and worrying endlessly about your safety. until then, i'll just keep the way behind you clear!
