adam was full of funny faces during dinner tonight. he had a quarter of a chicken breast, a handful of broccoli, several pear slices and some oatmeal.

adam, you clap your hands anytime we sing, which i just love. i thought, for several days, you were a genius baby because you clapped when i sang "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands!" and while you might really be a genius baby... you clap for any song. this makes me feel even more that you loooooove sound and music. you've been into shaking rattles, banging things together, and listening to music for awhile now.
also, my sweet little boy, you are an eating champ. at school, i told the teacher that you are eating little bits of meat, cheese, fruits, veggies and breads at home, thinking she'd make sure you got a few bites to try at school. well, boy, was i wrong! in the past week or so, at school, here are a few things you've had: pulled bbq pork, meatloaf, ham, cream corn, corn bread... i can't believe it! she says you're eating so well and love all your food.
your teacher also asked us to bring you 3 sippy cups to school. i worried, but you're doing great! in this week, you've had all your daytime formula from sippy cups. i am so surprised how well it's going. we still have ground to cover-- you haven't quite figured it out on your own and need help-- but you're not even 9 months old yet and drinking from cups! i am impressed. (of course... your drool impresses me, so what can i say...?!)
your separation issues have increased and challenge us somewhat. since you started crawling, you definitely don't want to be away from us. if we sit you to play in your room while we do something else, like get ready for work or make dinner or feed the dog, etc, you cry and attempt to crawl out of your room to find us. you immediately stop crying when we come back and pick you up... sometimes you cry as soon as we sit you down out of our arms. i know this is common for babies your age and wonder about the best way to handle it. only time will tell, i guess, like everything else. you have been such a dream so far that if this small bit is our biggest challenge, i consider us to be a very lucky family!
you're still obsessed with the cups. i will put many toy options in front of you and you'll pluck out the cups only. you hold them while we carry you around. you spot them across a room and take off for them. those cups were the best purchase ever. it's also neat to see you play favorites with your toys-- you've never been this particular before.
not exactly sure how much you weigh till we go to your 9 month appt later this month, but we've moved you up to size 4 diapers. we put you on the scale with daddy and it said you weigh 25! i don't think that's accurate, but wouldn't be surprised if it's close... we'll find out for sure later this month!
tonight we took our second jogging spin with our new jogging stroller. again you took a napper and seemed pleased. what a treat for me to exercise and BREATHE outside while being with you after spending the day inside my office!? awesome!
